FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Adolf Koch?
Our association goes back to Adolf Koch (1897-1970), one of the founding thinkers behind the naturist movement in Germany. His motto: “There are no ugly people. Everyone is beautiful when they are in motion.” You can find out more about him here.
Why nude? What's so good about it?
Moving naked and carefree - that's what we burn for, because it feels good, feels free and connects.
We find that people and their naked bodies (today) far too rarely have the opportunity to express themselves outside of the shower, bed and visit to the sauna. Being naked together in a group, during sports, in nature has an effect nachweislich has a positive effect on self-perception, one's own body image and life satisfaction (keyword: body positivity).
Many of our activities have a focus on movement, as this is an intuitive way of getting to know the naked body in a relaxed way.
Do you do everything naked?
Yes, we are nude at all of our sporting events. However, you can wear shoes, a sports bra or knee pads if necessary.
The other activities are mostly naked. At our Hikes and Excursions and Trips we're always naked when the temperature's right. At our group evenings like life drawing, karaoke (or nudeoke ;)) or game evenings, we are mostly naked as well.
I’m on my period - should this be a problem?
Of course not. You can leave some of our activities on during these days, or do it your own way, just as you feel safe and comfortable. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our diversity ambassador (diversity@adolf-koch.de) with any questions or concerns.
What sort of people participate in your events?
With us, you will meet people of many different origins, age groups, gender identities and skin colours. Diversity is important to us, and we are constantly striving to make our events more accessible to different groups that may not feel comfortable participating in naturism. We are proud to also offer our FLINTA group (Female, Lesbian, Inter-, Non-Binary, Transgender and Agender), offering a variety of events for people of these identities.
Contrary to what our name “Family Sports Club” may imply, we are open to everyone and not just families - the name is just inherited as tradition from the establishing club decades back.
Can I give it a try, before I become a member?
Yes very much! You can take part in many of our offers as a guest. Here you'll learn more.
There is also the option of a four-week trial, during which time you can try out all the sports that interest you as often as you like. Here you'll learn more.
Only members can participate in group evenings, volleyball rides and yoga weekends. Other trips are open to guests, but are significantly cheaper for members.
I’m interested, though still a bit nervous - how can I take my first steps?
Don't worry, many of us felt the same way at first. Experience has shown that the initial nervousness subsides quickly. If you would like to talk to one of us about this before your first participation, please get in touch hier.
There is also one for FLINTA people (female, lesbian, inter, non-binary, transgender, agender). Gruppe, which meets monthly for joint activities. With this group we want to build a bridge and one safe & brave space create a space where everyone can feel comfortable experiencing social nudity.
Are you about sex?
No. We are not prudish, but would like to offer a safe space in which everyone can feel comfortable and experience nudity in a carefree atmosphere. That's why it's not about cocking, checking or otherwise erotic behavior.
Sexualised or judgmental looks have no place with us, nor do verbal or gestural come-ons. Of course, discrimination, racism, ableism, sexism, transphobic and queerphobic behavior, body shaming and encroaching behavior are also taboo.
Isn’t there an increased risk of injury by nude sport?
A few millimetres of cloth is no protection against injury. Shoes, knee guards or an athletic bra can naturally be used depending on the type of sport.
Are there any athletic prerequisites?
None in particular, all are welcome with us and with all types of sports, there are both beginners and more experienced members. With most of our sports offerings. you can also be supported through our trainer, in order to advance your skills. More info can be found on the sites of each individual type of sport.
